We are planning on an April 6 full Council meeting.  We were anticipating using a WebEx approach.

Yesterday that changed to simply using a bridge line, with 5 CM’s in chambers and 3 CM’s home on the bridge line.  They will all have the agenda available in iPads via our Granicus solution. We will also stream the meeting live to the public on TV13 and FB.  There will be no public comments  period, which makes this meeting a little easier.  We are looking at a long term solution that can handle public input and remote voting.

Forsyth County is using Google Meet for our Board Meetings.  Public Session is being handled by calling into a call-queue, which our Clerk then answers via speaker phone and is transmitted into the Google Meet conference via her computer microphone.  Only staff are on the Google Meet conference.  We are Live Streaming the Google Meet conference via our in-house broadcast production equipment (Newtek Tricaster TC1), and streams on Vimeo Live and Facebook Live.

What about managing phone-in-only participants in a caller queue?  I haven’t seen that feature in Zoom or GoToMeeting.  Phone-only participants can’t be muted without muting all, correct?

Any other options for a managed-queue call conferencing service that is affordable and reliable?

Hi Jane,

Yes we are in the midst of testing GoTo Webinar / GoTo Meeting option for the Board meeting next week. So far the testing seems to work. We had to rewire our Board room to accommodate sound system etc.
